European Project entitled: IN MOTION funded by the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP Grundtvig Partnerships 2013). Involves five partners from five countries (France, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey). In the consortium Greece is represented by “Corporation for Succor and Care of Elderly and Disabled-FRODIZO”.
The purpose of the project is the exchange of experiences and implementation of best practices in support of elderly people. This will lead to concrete results and diffusion ways (educational tools, materials, courses) and to concrete proposals to be submitted to the EU institutions.
For this reason, it will be created a “special education process where in each partner country will take place several actions (workshops, trainings, seminars, etc.) in collaboration with other agencies (Municipalities, Universities and research centers) for the thorough analysis of the issues and exchange of views on best practices, methodologies and innovative solutions for the personal wellness and empowerment of older persons. The program «IN MOTION» recognizes the importance of professionals working in health and social care domains and the need to implement new social policies and strategies to meet future challenges.
The project mainly focuses on topics sport & physical activity (both aerobic and anaerobic) as an innovative way to improve the health profile of the elderly and as an interactive process of active aging and social inclusion.

Establish a framework of practical competencies for professionals working in elderly care sector.
Identify strategies, methodologies, tools and practices that will improve elderly’s way of life and care service structures.
The project will run for two years from August 2013 until July 2015 and the management authority is the State Scholarship Foundation (SSF).
